As the owner of FSA I have some experience in this area. I want to clarify that the insurance company's that bond these events set the age limit at 16, not necessarily the promoter. We all understand that many kids under 16 years old are very talented and capable of handling the quad, but by chance if one of these under aged miners were to get severely injured or killed in a accident due to negligence by the promoter, the sport as we know it would be forever changed.
This young man is not the first to be sidelined because of his age, my sons experienced the same, but it is in the best interest of the sport to establish a standard and enforce that standard across the board at these events nationwide. At the end of the day, no one wants to see a child or young person injured in exchange for a record.
